Also known as Aktion National Airport, Preveza Airport (PVK) serves the regions of Preveza and Lefkada within the eastern part of Greece. This hub is notable due to the fact that it is used by the Hellenic Air Force as well as NATO as a base for operations. Some of the airlines that travel to and from Preveza Airport include Austrian Airlines, Blue Air, British Airways, Eurowings and easyJet. Approximately 472,000 passengers use this airport every year and there are currently plans to undertake a major renovation project, beginning at the end of 2017. These vehicles are often rented to travel to nearby beaches, while being able to enjoy a host of different options to choose from. Those arriving by car from the north will generally use Route 21, while anyone travelling from the south can take Route 42 or route E952. To avoid rush-hour traffic, arriving in the morning may be the best option.
